Timezone conversion

Stock Market Hours in My Timezone

Convert U.S. and global stock market hours into your local timezone, including NYSE, Nasdaq, LSE, HKEX, and Tokyo Stock Exchange sessions.

Market hours are usually published in the exchange's local timezone, but users often need the answer in their own local time. This page explains how to read stock market hours without manually calculating offsets.

The homepage timezone selector converts each regular session using IANA timezones, which helps account for daylight-saving changes where they apply.

Key points

  • NYSE and Nasdaq regular hours are 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM in America/New_York.
  • London Stock Exchange regular hours are shown in Europe/London.
  • HKEX and JPX include separate morning and afternoon sessions.
  • Timezone conversion is more reliable when it uses named timezones instead of fixed UTC offsets.

Why timezone names matter

A fixed offset such as UTC-5 or UTC+1 can be wrong during part of the year because some markets observe daylight saving time and others do not. America/New_York, Europe/London, and Asia/Tokyo carry the regional calendar rules needed for a better conversion.

This is especially important around March, October, and November, when daylight-saving transitions can temporarily change the apparent gap between U.S., European, and Asian market sessions.

How to use the conversion

Choose your timezone on the homepage, then compare the exchange local session with the converted session. If a session crosses midnight in your region, treat the local calendar date carefully before setting alerts or placing orders.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the converted time change during the year?

Converted times can shift when one region observes daylight saving time and another does not. Named timezones help handle those seasonal rules.

Does the converter include holidays?

U.S. holiday and early-close dates are included for 2026. Global holiday coverage is not complete and should be checked with the official exchange.

Can I use UTC instead of my local timezone?

Yes. UTC is useful for operations teams and international calendars, but most individual users prefer their local timezone.
